PUBLICATION RULES

Troc Vélo provides you with a system for posting listings. It lets you publish your listings on our site, manage them and get in touch with potential customers.

The section below details the rules you must follow for your listings to be published on our site (indexed).

Failure to comply with the rules set out below may result in your listing being refused or removed (delisted), or even in your account being deleted.

1/ Writing your listings

When you post a listing on our site, you must follow certain writing rules:

A listing must be written for a single product
A listing must be written in French
The listing's description must describe the product/service on offer
When you add a photo, it must not exceed a maximum size of 1066x800 pixels
The photo must show the actual product being sold, not a new catalogue product
You must hold the rights to use the photo; in particular, it is forbidden to use a photo published by another member,
Uploaded photos must not carry any text overlay
The listing must be posted in the right category (otherwise, a moderator may move your listing to the right category)
You cannot have the same listing in several categories (otherwise, a moderator may delete the listings in the categories least representative of the product sold)
You cannot publish the same listing several times in the same category to gain visibility
Any advertising listing is forbidden
If you are a professional, you must post your listings with your PRO account (a moderator may block your account if you post your listings with a private account)

Troc Vélo includes a filter engine and an email alert engine that notify registered users when a product is available on the site. If you want your products to be picked up by these engines and therefore be more visible, always make sure you fill in your listings correctly. Before confirming your listing, check that it is in the right category, that the listing description is explicit enough, and that the attributes are accurate and complete. This will help your listing stand out better in search results and make it clearer for potential buyers.

Try, wherever possible, to write legibly and in lower case.

Remember that your listings will be indexed by search engines and that the success of your transaction may depend on those searches: a description that is too short or incomplete attributes will limit the visibility of your product on Troc Vélo and on search engines.

2/Prohibited content

Any listing containing elements that appear to be contrary to legal or regulatory provisions, to public decency, to the publication rules, or likely to disturb or shock readers will be refused, with no compensation for the advertiser.

When you post a listing on our site, certain content and behaviour are not allowed:

Personal or subjective assessments and criteria: "very nice, as good as new, bargain, must see, clearance, etc." are refused
Listings offering an auction-style format are refused
Creating a duplicate listing (a moderator will delete the duplicate, or even the account in case of abuse)
Deleting and recreating the same listing to move it to the top (in case of abuse, your account may be blocked or deleted without notice)
Using inappropriate terms with the content offered
Selling counterfeit goods
Promoting your business with an account with private status
Promoting a product, service or your company, whether when posting your products or in their delivery, such as by inserting a hyperlink, watermarks, an email address, an advertising message, packaging or a transactional printout
Including the URL of your website or your email address in your username, your public information on your seller page, your listings or your exchanges via Troc Vélo messaging, or in parcels sent to buyers

Only original products that you own may be offered for sale.

We remind you that selling copies or reproductions of any kind may constitute an act of counterfeiting, punishable by three years' imprisonment and a fine of €300,000 under Article L. 335-2, paragraph 2 of the French Intellectual Property Code.

We reserve the right to modify/delete any non-compliant listing. In the event of a non-compliant listing, no paid option will be refunded.

Troc-Vélo does not intervene in transactions between buyers and sellers, and cannot be held liable in the event of a dispute relating to a listing. For more information, see our Terms and Conditions.

3/Managing your listings

You can manage your listings: view, delete, edit and deactivate them, in order to keep the system clean and functional.

You are required to update or delete your listings when they become obsolete.

4/Professional listings

In listing lists, a professional is displayed with the pro logo. Listings from professionals and private individuals are ranked together when no filter criterion is selected.

LISTING RANKING

You can browse the Troc Vélo site by product category (e.g. Road bike, MTB, Gravel...) or use the search engine available on the site.

When you browse the site or use the search engine, you are redirected either to a category page or to a search results page.

Listings are ranked by relevance by default, taking into account the listings' creation date and any paid options subscribed to by advertisers. If the User uses the search engine, listings will be ranked by relevance (as detailed above), also taking into account how well they match the keywords entered .

Listings can be sorted by the User according to several criteria:

"Cheapest" : sort by price from lowest to highest
"Most expensive" : sort by price from highest to lowest
"Newest" : sort by listing date from newest to oldest
"Oldest" : sort by listing date from oldest to newest

Listings can be filtered by the User according to several criteria:

The search location, with the possibility of adjusting the search area around that location
The price range (between minimum price / maximum price)
The product's condition: new, as new, very good condition, good condition, worn
The type of seller: professional or private individual (otherwise, combined in the same list of results)
Listings published with the "Urgent" label (paid option subscribed to by the Seller)
The listing type: sale, wanted, rental
The possibility of paying online (secure payment)
Listings available with delivery.
The various characteristics of the product sought depending on its type (brand, colour, model, size, main material…)

Certain optional paid features, which can be combined, also affect the ranking and/or visibility of listings:

Category head / featured. This option increases the visibility of the listing. In addition to appearing in the product list, your listing is shown in a dedicated area above it ("Category head" area). 6 products are displayed at random throughout the day to optimise the visibility of each listing that has subscribed to the option. You can choose between 3 offers: 7 days, 15 days, 30 days.

Boost to the top of the list. This option increases the visibility of the listing and changes its ranking. Your listing is automatically moved, at the time of subscription , to the top of the list for the whole duration of the subscription. You optimise your visibility over time. You can choose between 4 offers: immediately, every day for 7 days, every day for 15 days, every day for 30 days. This option does not apply if the User chooses to apply a sort other than "Sort by relevance".

The "URGENT" label. This option increases the visibility of the listing, which displays an "urgent" label. It can change the ranking of the results list only if the User chooses to filter listings by this criterion when searching. This option is valid for the whole time your listing is published (maximum duration: 120 days).
